What Do You Think of My New Blog Header and Button?

I am so happy to have won a giveaway sponsored by TJ who blogs at Measuring Flower.  She was giving away the design of a blog button and a header image. It may have been a leaderboard image but she kindly created a header image for me instead.  I must say it was super easy to work with TJ.  Being a new blogger I wasn't really sure what I even wanted on the button I just new the previous one I created myself was pretty boring LOL.  She gave me some ideas and I responded back.  Then she went to work creating the great header image you see on my blog today.  The whole process took 2 days.

If you are looking for someone to design a blog image or button for you then check out TJ's Design Elements where you can see samples of her work.

TJ thank you again for the great images you provided me and good luck with you delivery and new baby.

What Would You Have Done?

I wanted to share my almost disastrous Tuesday night dinner.

I woke up early to chop the celery, carrots and onions for the chicken noodle soup I was going to make when I got home from work. I put the chicken breast in the big stock pot with some garlic and the onions I had cut up. I filled it up with water and put the pot in the fridge.

When I got home from work, I put the vegetables in the pot and put the pot on the stove to cook the chicken and veggies. After a process of straining the soup to get clear broth, I shredded the chicken into bite sized pieces. I put the chicken back in the pot and put the noodles in to cook in the soup. I had the pot on for about 10 minutes when I went to stir the soup and discovered the new brand of noodles I used turned into mush. Well I didn’t want to dump it.

So here is where the real fun begins. I decided to salvage the soup by essentially rinsing the chicken and vegetables, putting them back in the pot and using some bowtie noodles that I had. So basically I started the soup making process at about 5:15 pm and the soup was finally ready at about 7:30 pm. Crazy but salvaged and now we have a big pot of Chicken and bowtie soup to enjoy for several days. Am I crazy or would anyone else have rinsed the chicken?

Daily Deal that Gives Back

Have you heard of Jasmere? I have purchased several of their daily deals.  What I like about the Jasmere deals that you can choose an organization to donate to.  Jasmere has partnered with GreaterGood.org and every time you make a purchase Jasmere will make a donation to the organization you have chosen.  I have chosen the option to "Help Veterans - Provide Meals for Veterans in Need".  After everything they have done for our country this is a great way to help them back by simply buying daily deals that interest you.
